The whole Ferro clan needs their own HBO series! H.M. Ward is the best at conflicted romance than the hordes of romance writers out there. Some of the males are into erotic, some are so busy being narcissistic A holes and some are saviors seeking solace. The conflicts are endless as are the women they attract and pursue, but the ones that a few of them are lucky enough to fall in love with are just as strong committed and loyal as anyone can create. The sexy times are HOT and the conflict is real and sorted, making for great series with the continuing story. The Ferro clan, so far, consists of two families with mothers and one father that are the control freaks to compete with all control matriarch's/patriarch's. My heart breaks for the mess that is some of the lives, like in this novel. This is really a novella that hooks you in for what is to come, Secrets & Lies Vol 1 is just like so many other of H.M. Ward's novels, a hook. If you aren't a fan of series that keep you on the hook, than do not get started in this drama. As much I try and tell myself that I will not buy another Proposition or Arrangement novel, I eventually do, as I am a fan of the Ferro men and their ferocious women.Product details

Wow this one took me totally by surprise. I didn't expect another series by HM Ward to come out so soon.

Holly introduces us to Kerry who is an up and coming freshman college art student who's first week at college has to go down as the worst ever in history of art students you know typical stuff like getting dumped, getting the luck of having the worst room mate in the college, making a fool of yourself in public yeah typical things lol yeah right
Of course in true Holly Ward style she adds some humor to the story along with a hot guy.
Oh yeah I said hot guy who also happens to love art. I mean what is better than a hot guy who can draw and has passion. Insert swooning here.....,. I can not wait to find out what twists and turns holly has for these two in the next installment.
This new series promises to be a great one. Kerry was the worst first week in college possible. The one thing that may have been tallied in the good column turned bad too. Kerry is a likeable average girl character with bad luck who finds herself adopted by friends that try and change her luck. You can’t help but want to adopt her yourself.
Ward introduces the story characters but leaves one thing open; her cliffhanger is different than normal. She doesn’t tell who the Ferro is. You can pretty much guess, but she doesn’t tell for sure. I’m a regular reader of Ward’s series, but would enjoy this story without knowing anything about the other books in Wards collection.
You had me and mysterious artist!
Kerry is out on her own trying to figure out how to cope with a new setting and a new wound thanks to her no good, break-up via text, coward of a former boyfriend. Her new bestie's got spunk and quite convincingly sways Kerry to go on the hook-up prowl. Kerry, not being that kind of gal, decides to put her game face on! Our mysterious artist is nothing short of sex on legs, so can we really blame Kerry here for trying to bed him? This is where we root for our gal for going the distance!!
Sadly, Kerry and her labido are placed on ice when mystery man gets a phone call. SERIOUSLY, Kerry has no luck with men who have mobile devices! Such a rejection could only be matched by, you guessed it, a series of run-ins with Mr. leave-em-high-and-dry himself!
AND THIS IS ALL WITHIN THE FIRST FEW CHAPTERS!
This book rocks.

So we meet Kerry. She's just starting as a freshman in college. It's her first day of school when she receives a text message from the love of her life that he's breaking up with her and seeing someone else. She's meets an outgoing classmate named Beth who convinces her that all she needs to get over her fresh break-up is to have rebound sex with a random, nameless guy. She meets a very handsome mysterious man. He's sexy, with amazing blue eyes and dark brown hair (like all the Ferros). Kerry met him earlier in the day when she accidentally ran into the men's room crying. As fate would have it, he is there again when she and her new friend are at the club looking for Mr. rebound. She gets up the courage to choose him. Things get hot and heavy when he suddenly leaves her high and dry. Talk about an ego blow. Cannot wait to see what happens next!!!
I must have masochistic personality traits to keep reading all of her serials, when I know they are going to end up making me hurt hanging me off that cliff at the end. This one is no different! I am suspended in suspense eagerly awaiting my next fix like a all the rest of the Ward junkies out there. I don't know how she does it... Maybe there are subliminal messages, brain washing us all in between the lines that makes us all crave her writing. LOL. This serial is about a college student who truly has just had the worst first week of college probably in existence (maybe not the worst but at least has a good chance to be in the top 20 worst in the world) ). Then add in the mix of all the bad luck a hot guy with loads of mystery surrounding him, lots of magnetic charisma and a side of cocky male ego. Several underlying plots already just beginning to brew within this first installment will hook you in. Love/hate the pain of suspense but here I am again and I'm sure this won't be the last time either.
